Diane, this is the best hidden treasure that has met my ear holes in a long time. Clean and reasonably priced. This is where audio books go when they die.

Recently bought this item, wondering if an old tape player that I have still worked (that was the trickiest part of the purchase). Fortunately it does, and I got to enjoy this gem. It certainly brought back memories of one of the best television shows ever on television. Kyle MacLachlan does an excellent job in the audio version of Special Agent Dale Cooper, and easily takes you into the mystical world of Twin Peaks (it had been a while!). The recording is true to the mood of the show (mysterious, scary, comical and absurd). Diane was a fortunate assistant. The cover alone is a nice piece of memorabilia for those of us who hold Twin Peaks close to our heart.

this is great for people who want to get behind the scene two more and learn more story of the Twin Peaks universe

This is a real treat and something of a curiosa these days. The tape, superbly read by Kyle MacLachlan, gives more information and insight to the mystery, and although most of it is taken directly from the series, there is also a lot of new stuff here that was recorded exclusively for this release in 1990. It might be just for the fans, but then again, that's enough for me!

A forty-five minute collection of musings by Dale Cooper over the first season and the early part of the second season of the Laura Palmer case. It ends right before the revelation of [blank] as the killer, which is a shame as that would be the best place to end it. In any case, though, it was highly entertaining and funny as hell. The majority of entries are new with some taken from the first and (early) second season. There's some humorous moments like Cooper explaining why he didn't choose the rent-to-own option, his obsessiveness over coffee, how he has a fear of airplane turbulence, and his system for enjoying long-distance travel. This could have easily been expanded to a full novel-length (or at least novella) work of at least six hours if they'd had talk about the various characters, places, and other things in the show. As such, it's more like buying a short story or novelette.Kyle Mclaughlin does his character well in the new cassette entries just as he does with the ones from the show. I bought this from Audible for about five dollars and got my money's worth even if it was flawed. It's good catch-up listening as I enjoy "The Return."8/10

The first audiobook I am actually reviewing is also the last of the books that I am reviewing leading into the premiere of the new season – twenty-five years later – on Showtime in 2017. Very excited for it.This long-forgotten (but recently rereleased) audiobook on tape is a forty-minute pleasure to listen to for fans of the show. It is a little fourth-wall overlap between Dale Cooper's "Diane" tapes on the show interspersed with some brand new not-on-the-show material. It is produced in the fashion that is exactly what you would hear if you were Diane receiving the tapes at the bureau and includes all original actors performing in the background (along with beautiful foley – pops, traffic, etc). With a few more clues to the mystery, along with the intimate character banterings that you would expect. The sheer existence of this is something that fans like me are bloodthirsty for... multi-genre, multi-media extras from favorite characters and programs. There is rarely anything like this in modern times, likely because of the cost and other prohibitive elements to making something like it, but essentially it is a great thing that exists for insiders. A true pleasure for the ears that adds another dimension to the show. Bundle this together with the books of Laura Palmer's Secret Diary, Dale Cooper's Autobiography, and the new Secret History of Twin Peaks, and you have a beautiful little mixed-media slice of the Twin Peaks Universe. Truly a pleasure that I have listened to again and again over the years.

Utterly useless yet utterly priceless for quotes from the second greatest FBI agent to ever visit the town of Twin Peaks."Oh, Diane… never drink coffee that has been anywhere near a fish.""Diane, 7:00 pm, the RR Diner. This must be where pies go when they die."

Absolutely incredible. A must have for Twin Peaks fans. Sound effects, birds chirping, frogs croaking, the wind and guest appearances by supporting cast members. A fantastic and unique look into Twin Peaks. My favorite collectible by far.
